Coaching on Wall Street:
Using Coaching to Expedite Large Scale Change

Peter Bregman shares his experiences in planning and rolling out an organizational coaching initiative involving 2000 people in the IT division of a large Wall Street financial services firm. While most change programs rely on convincing or leading people to change, coaching allows people to choose change. Yet while traditional coaching deals with the behavior of an individual within the system, organizational coaching must encompass the entire system. This represents a new application for coaching, one that involves much more than sending 50 coaches into an organization with client lists.

Attendees of this presentation learn:

  • Key elements to consider in implementing large-scale organizational coaching programs and the pitfalls to avoid (or at least anticipate)

  • How to balance the interests and add value to individuals and their organization

  • How to gather information in coaching sessions that will radically expedite an organization's change effort

  • How to evaluate the effectiveness of an organizational coaching initiative
