Highly Valuable, Highly Scalable:
Applying the Principles of Coaching to Online Learning

Presentation by Peter Bregman and Howie Jacobson at Lakewood Publications Online Learning 2000 Conference, September 25-27, 2000.

One-on-one coaching is the most effective way of producing behavior shifts in employees (highly valuable). Online learning is the least expensive way of delivering information (highly scalable). Peter and Howie will describe and demonstrate how the guiding principles behind the coaching process can translate into and impact electronic media. They will give participants opportunities to evaluate online learning experiences and discuss how they can be used in conjunction with coaching to create a valuable, cost-effective intervention.

Participants will learn:
  • how the guiding principles of the coaching process can be applied to online learning to increase value while retaining the cost benefits
  • how to create and mediate online learning experiences to support behavior change
  • how to evaluate the effectiveness of online learning
