Coaching Techniques for Positive Results and Productive Relationships: The QUICC(TM) Model for Success
A workshop led by Peter Bregman and Howie Jacobson at the Linkage Conference: Building a Positive Work Environment 2000, San Diego, November 15, 2000.

Coaching in the workplace can be used as a powerful tool for creating a more positive work environment. It reflects a company's commitment to employee development, encourages honest self-appraisal and builds a culture in which the gap between current and desired performance represents opportunity, not discouragement. This workshop will teach the skills needed to coach for positive results. Coaching can help employees achieve extraordinary success by tapping their own resources and teaching them to trust co-workers. While coaching is not a difficult skill to learn, like any skill, it requires practice, flexibility, feedback, and humility. Peter Bregman and Howie Jacobson will describe and demonstrate the QUICC(TM) model of coaching, explain its uses and spend the majority of the workshop giving participants a chance to practice, give and receive feedback, practice some more, and create a plan to incorporate coaching into their workplace. In this day-long session, build your coaching skills as you learn:

  • How to implement coaching in the workplace using the QUICC(TM) model
  • Effective usage: when to coach and when not to coach
  • How to coach different generational and personality styles
  • How to use coaching to motivate and retain Gen X employees.
